Make your own Sticky Dots by Fran Tynan

Materials:

  • Fran’s seam binding-Rose Petal
  • Kaisercraft pearls
  • Small piece of scrap cardstock
  • Xyron sticker maker

Step One – Punch, die cut or free-hand cut out a small circle from scrap cardstock-about an inch in diameter-or whatever size flower you want.  It doesn’t matter what colour cardstock you use as you will be covering it up-so it’s a great chance to use up any old scraps.  Run them through your sticker maker and peel the off the backing.

Step Two – Take your seam binding and stick the very end down on the edge of the circle with the bulk of the ribbon going ‘off’ the circle.  Make a loop in the ribbon using your finger (as shown) and stick it down to the cardstock. Repeat all the way around and just keep following the inside of the circle until your have no cardstock left to show through.

There is a video here from the Cosmo Cricket blog if you’d like a more descriptive explanation!!

Step Three – Take some Kaisercraft Pearls and add them onto the centre of the flower you’ve now made-to add a vintage feel.

Step Four – The bonus about these flowers are that they are completely flat on the bottom so they are very easy to attach to your projects.  I’ve used mine on this card using Basic Grey Basic paper, a Crate Paper Neighbourhood chipboard sticker and some Olive Green seam binding which I’ve tied in a bow to look like a stem with leaves.
