Firstly we will look at each technique and then I will show you putting the
- Bazzill White cardstock
- Prima Fairy Flora paper “Summer Storm”
- Prima Solid Coordinates Fairy Flora
- Martha Stewart Tags/Doilies
- Jenni Bowlin vintage button
- Kaisercraft pearl
- Masking tape
- Tea bag
- Martha Stewart butterfly punch
Step one – Printing your journaling on masking tape.
Type your journaling on your computer and print it out on a normal piece of
paper-just to get the placement right.
Then add your masking tape directly over the top of the journaling-taking
some of the tackiness off before you do. Just stick the tape to your desk
first and take it off-just so it doesn’t stick too well to your paper.
Put it through your printer again and it will work a treat.
Step two – Making your own vintage-looking pin.
Take an ordinary pin and a Kaisercraft pearl and simply stick the pearl onto
the top of the pin. It actually sits flatter on your page than the vintage
pins that you buy as one side is already flat.
Step three – Tea-dying
Simply grab a tea bag and wet it (may as well make yourself a cuppa and use
that one!) Take some paper towel and put your item on it and brush the tea
bag over it. Very quick and simple-you can make it darker by doing it more
times but I really just wanted the ‘whiteness’ taken off the Martha Stewart
Add a Prima Fairy Flora flower to the middle of the doily to finish off your
Step four – Taking another Martha Stewart doily-add a circle of bookpage, a button and a
punched out butterfly-very simple embellishments, but if you choose the
right colours they can really make an impact on your page.
Step five – Now to assemble the LO-take your Prima Fairy Flora “Summer Storm” paper and
cut it to slightly smaller than your 12×12″ white cardstock. Round the
corners and ink the edges then adhere to the white cardstock.
Step six – Add your doilies that we prepared earlier, leaving room for your photo/s
Step nine – Add your date or other journaling to the blank doily-again I used something
that wasn’t exactly an embellishment to begin with but something off a
packet I had (some Heidi Swapp date stamps).
